"This track from our archives, serves as our earnest contribution to the ongoing #En dFemicide KE campaign and stands in solidarity with the grieving families.

Despite being on hiatus, we feel compelled to use our art to shed light on this deeply rooted issue that has persisted for far too long,"

They went on to add the backstory behind the songs inspiration as they shared statistics of Kenya's gender based cases.

"'By the River' is a haunting reminder that the fight against gender-based violence is not new; it's a battle that has spanned generations. As we stand by this river called life, the song is our call to action to prevent our women from drowning in the torrents of violence.

Let’s all join raising awareness, for the pain should not just be felt by the families and loved ones. SWIPE for some data about Femicide in Kenya or go to www.africadatahub.org for more info," the last of their lengthy call to action post read.

Netizens have complimented the team for their efforts in the call against gender based violence with outpouring love and support.
