Njugush narrates how sleep almost made him miss the delivery of his firstborn son

Award-winning actor, digital content creator, and script writer Timothy Kimani popularly known as Njugush has hilariously revealed how he almost missed his first child's delivery.

Njugush narrated how his wife Celestine 'Wakavinye' Ndinda had been in labour for hours with no sign of the baby coming out.

At some point, the comedian reasoned he ought to go to the house and catch some shut-eye since both their families were there and in case of anything he would be called and that's where he went wrong.

First, off Njugush, the two had started at a different hospital, and after scanning were later referred to another one.

"I came back, and still she had not delivered. We stayed on Friday, the child came on Saturday night. To me, that was chaos," started the father of 2 in an interview she had with his former manager Judy Nyawira on her YouTube channel.

Walking down memory lane to that eventful night, Njugush recalls how both his mom and Cele's mom arrived at the hospital and started praying because Cele had been in labour for hours.

Finally she was induced with the doctors letting them know that if that did not help with dilation she would have to go in for a CS operation.

And that's when the bright idea to go sleep occurred to Njugush. He'd just go sleep for a few minutes and then head back to the hospital.

"Our mums came, and they started praying. I was wondering if that was how it should be. So I told myself, since we have been here and she hasn't done anything, let me run to Ruiru and sleep because the doctor had said if the medication doesn't work, she will go for CS," the digital content creator humorously narrated.

Sadly, he had his phone on silent mode and did not remember to switch it back to ring when he got home and laid his head down. Njugush narrates how he slept and was completely gown.

Things at the hospital were escalating at that point. He was needed to sign official documents authorizing the CS for his wife but he was nowhere to be found and calls to his mobile phone were going unanswered.

He woke up to confusion and loud banging on his door, he assumed that probably Cele had delivered and they had come home but was in for a shock.

"I said let me see; maybe they have brought the baby, getting out, my friend Daphne was shouting about how I needed to rush to the hospital because they needed me.

My mum and her mum were there but I was the only one who could sign. That day I knew I was very important. In less than 16 minutes, I was at the hospital," added Njugush.

Finishing up on that chapter, Njugush noted the whole experience made him love his family even more and he promised himself he'd build an amazing bond with his son.
