Renowned Kenyan artist Nyamari Ongegu, popularly known as Nyashinski, has canceled his planned music tour in the United States, which was set for Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Through his Instagram page, the highly talented musician announced that he will not be performing at the USA Madaraka Festival 2024 due to circumstances beyond his team's control.

"We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to perform at the USA Madaraka Festival 2024," he wrote.

Expressing his disappointment, he continued to say that despite the organizers' best efforts, they were unable to secure visas for his team to enter the United States.

"Despite the organizers' efforts, they were unable to secure visas for our teams to enter the United States. We were really looking forward to the tour and apologize for any inconvenience caused," he said, while offering his apologies.

In recent days, U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, clarified why the U.S. embassy often denies many visa applicants.

Speaking during an interview with a television station on May 15, 2024, Whitman stated that the embassy has been accurate in denying visas, even though some might involve errors.

Responding to a question, the ambassador also explained that they deny visas in such cases to remain vigilant and cautious about people who might pose a threat to America.

"We deny people visas, and are we always right? No. But are we more often right? Yes. Think about it, everyone wants to come to America, and some bad people want to come to America.

Terrorists, money launderers, people who have previously overstayed their visas, people who have let their Green Cards expire and come back," she said.
