Entrepreneur and renowned dance choreographer Chiki Kuruka has strongly established her roots in Kenya, even though she's not Kenyan by birth she has such deep love for the country that it leaves you in awe.

I recently bumped into her and while we talked about managing her husband Bien, politics, SolFest, and whatnot I couldn't stop wondering, "Does she ever suffer from FOMO? Does she ever dream of going back home?"

Chiki is a dual citizenship holder having been born to half Nigerian and half Swiss parents. Her mom is a lawyer based in the UK while her dad is a well-recognized journalist based in Switzerland.

Thus I had to ask, "Do you ever visit home and what do you miss most about life before settling in Kenya,"

Chiki, to my surprise, revealed even though she does visit both her home countries at least once a year there's nothing much to write home about and she's content with the place she now calls home.

On what she misses about each nation that she has roots in the energetic choreographer said, "About England I miss nothing! Nothing at all. Well, except for my family.

About Nigeria, I miss the vibe, I miss the energy!" Chiki said passionately as she highlighted how her country's people enjoy dancing at any opportunity they get.

"I miss the fact that in the club people DANCE! Like dance. But honestly, Kenya is my home and I love it. I love being here and that's why I don't engage in any kind of negative conversation or comparison about Kenya.

Even in the industry, they have everything phenomenal. From artists to music, people can choose to go down the road of negative comparison but I'm just here to say I love Kenya and all it has to offer," she softly added with love beaming from her eyes as I pointed out the fact that she was actually rocking two Kenyan flag wrist bands on the same arm.
