The Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA) has given the police a 3-day ultimatum to apprehend Collins Jumaisi Khalisia, the prime suspect in the murder of 42 women whose body parts were found dumped in a garbage heap in Kware, Embakasi.
Through their X page, FIDA-Kenya expressed their shock at receiving news that Jumaisi had escaped from custody.
They stated that the police have only 3 days to ensure Jumaisi is not only re-arrested but also brought to court so that the families of the murdered women can obtain justice.
“FIDA-Kenya is deeply concerned about the escape of the Kware murder suspect, Collins Jumaisi, from Gigiri police. We urge the police to re-arrest the suspect within the next three days and proceed with the legal process,” they said.
FIDA-Kenya further threatened to organize nationwide protests if the deadline is not met, expressing their dissatisfaction with how Jumaisi's escape was handled.
“If this is not accomplished, we will organize nationwide demonstrations to express our dissatisfaction and demand accountability. The safety of our community, women, and children cannot be compromised, and we urge all relevant authorities to take swift and decisive action,” their report continued.
