Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya is urging men to drop the age long internalized notion that 'men don't cry,' maintaining showing emotions is healthy irrespective of the gender.
Natembeya further argued there is absolutely nothing wrong or bad about a man crying when heartbroken.
"Wanaume tuonyeshe feelings, sio vibaya. Wakati mwingine hata lia kama mambo ni mabaya we lia tu," started off the politician.
His remarks translate to, "men let us show feelings, it isn't wrong to do so. Sometimes just let go and cry even if the situation is grim at the time, you just cry,"
The 52-year-old governor went on to highlight some of the benefits of crying stating, "ukitoa emotions unaheal na huezi kua na maumivu ndiposa unaona wamama wanaishi miaka mingi kuliko wanaume,
(When you release your emotions you heal and no longer carry hurt and aches in you. And that is why you see women live longer than men,)"
Finishing up Natembeya highlighted how commendable it is that women when they have issues they turn to each other for emotional support and to just talk or vent.
As opposed to men, who choose to go drinking when faced with challenges. The Trans Nzoia governor urged men to break those shackles as they might eventually lead to death.
"Mama akipata shida anaita wengine wanaongea lakini sisi tunakaa kwa corner, unajua ni unaenda kubugia pombe utakufa!" Natembeya stated calling upon men to express their vulnerabilities
