State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed has complained on X about football fans mocking him even in jest.
The Liverpool supporter had posted a celebratory message after his team defeated Manchester United on Sunday evening.
However, Manchester United fans flooded his page with criticism, with some even bringing politics into the football banter.
Mohamed, who has recently faced challenges defending President William Ruto's policies, posted another message expressing his surprise at being targeted even in football jokes.
He stressed that he appreciates all his social media followers and joked with Manchester United fans, telling them that if they don’t step up, they will still be beaten in the next meeting.
"Hey, guys! Even football banter, you’re still coming for me? But I still love you all! Anyway, congratulations to my good Manchester United friends. The win was impressive. Get ready for next time! Good morning!” Hussein Mohamed said.
Liverpool defeated Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
