Following a 2019 that saw him score three of the year’s biggest afro pop hits (“Baby,”“Beginning” and “Don’t Call Me Back”) and his massive 2020 collaboration with Mr Eazi andDJ Neptune, “Nobody,” Joeboy now presents 'Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic' a celebration of love in its myriad forms.
“Working on this project was life changing. I met a version of myself I never knew before,” Joeboy says of the project, recorded over the last year with a team of producers including such notables as Dëra, BeatsbyKO, Killertunes and E Kelly.
“The plan was to come up with a title that best describes love, without actually using the word love, hence Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic. Because love is a perfect blend of beauty and magic.”

While Joeboy might be a romantic, he’s also a realist. The songs on Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic capture the vulnerability of being in love, and the disappointments that arise from it.
“Oshe” is a celebration of marriage while “Sugar Mama” details a more temporary sort of relationship.
“Consent” is a timely confirmation of mutual love and attraction whicha ddresses a common theme in today’s discourse.
“Love is a special thing, and it requires both parties’ consent to truly experience it to the fullest,” Joeboy says
“Anything outside of that isn’t love anymore. Forcing it isn’t acceptable,and that needs to be known loud and clear. This song is celebrating the beauty of mutual consent, and disapproving the lack of it.”

“Lonely,” out now on all DSPs, sets the tempo for the much-anticipated project.
“Runaway,” is both a soft and tender love song of the sort Joeboy'ss fans have come to know him for and also something new, with a flash of Spanish classical guitar that guides the song deeper into international waters
“Nobody,” a 2020 collaboration with DJ Neptune and Mr Eazi, is already among the year’s most streamed songs in Africa.
