Tanzanian singer Zuchu says her mother contributed to her not pursuing law. The singer is daughter to legendary Taarab singer Khadija Kopa.
Speaking to Wasafi TV, Zuchu revealed
"Nilitaka kuwa Mwanasheria Lakini sasa uanasheia mama yangu haku-support sana, mtu kafanya makosa unamtetea, Msichana amebakwa unamtetea kwa sababu ni client wako, ni kazi ambayo ina mtihani"
(I wanted to be a lawyer but my mother never supported that. Her thought was, you defend someone who is on the wrong. Like defending a rapist just because he's your client, its a career with its own challenges)
Zuchu came into the limelight last year after being signed by Diamond Platnumz in his label WCB. Since then she has released hits among them her most recent song 'Sukari'
