The 63rd annual Grammy awards went down last weekend and Nigerian superstar Burna Boy the global music album for his album 'Twice As Tall'

This is for ALL of us. Pls remember that YOU ARE NOT ORDINARY 🦍#GRAMMY2021" he wrote after the win.

In a recent interview with BBC, Burna Boy described the win as a relief as he believed that he indeed deserved it.

I felt "Very relieved because I deserved it" he said

He says he saw the Grammy coming since 2012  "I just realized it was bigger than me. That is when it kinda hit me that this is not a hobby anymore. You used to do this on the streets and everyone would go crazy, now I don't see anyone better than you so its serious."

He encouraged other African creatives to keep working hard "It shows anything is possible and Whatever situation or environment you may find yourself in, does not really determine your future."

Our very own Sauti Sol took part in writing the lyrics in some of the songs in winning album and will receive a certificate for their contribution.

"Congratulations @burnaboygram πŸ™ŒπŸΏ. Happy to be a part of the dream. Thank you for showing us it can be done! πŸ†πŸ’ͺ🏿AFRICAN BOYS ON A MISSION πŸš€," read a post from Sauti Sol's Instagram
