Kanye Omari West has legally changed his name to just Ye. The father of four was granted this request by a Los Angeles court after filling for the request in August.
He had previously used the name Ye in one of his album and was using it as his Twitter username. Ye has also been his nickname for a long time.
"The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE." He tweeted in 2018 after the release of the album
Ye, is the short name for Kanye but the rapper also explained in an interview with Big Boy that it is derived from The Bible.
"I believe Ye is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So it's I'm you, I'm us, it's us"
"It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, our everything."
