Entertainment and music industry is one of the business sector in Kenya that was greatly affected by the emergence of Covid-19 pandemic which concurrently led to a slowdown in the economic growth of the country.

The impact of the viral disease pushed the entertainment and music investors to re-organize and come up with alternative ways to ensure that their businesses thrive.

Ibikunle Nojeem Adisa, a renowned Nigerian music promoter and  businessman who organizes major music festivals that feature top artists such as Joe Boy, Mayokun, Asake, Naira Marley, Skiibii, Lyta, Zlatan, Slim among others has shared his thoughts amid the revival of the sector.

 

For the starters, Mr Ibikunle began working in various clubs in Nigeria and Nairobi, organizing small events. His move to Kenya's capital in 2016 was motivated by the increasing competition in the Nigerian music industry.

Recently, while speaking to a news outlet in Nairobi, Ibikunle revealed his plans that will ensure he his back to normalcy. He made clear that organizing back to back concerts which feature top artists will play a major role in restoring his operations.

"Covid-19 has really caused the business to stall for a long time because our business depends on people, but this has been a catalyst for me and my company Bruce Promotion & Entertainment to reorganize and see how we restore entertainment in a safer environment," Ibikunle said.

He further revealed his plans to invest more than 30 million Kenyan shillings in organizing concerts within a two year timeline.

With this, the multi-million project will not only increase employment opportunities  for various young people who have been struggling to make ends meet during the pandemic but also connect the Nigerian and Kenya's music sector.

Taking to his instagram account, Ibikunle anounced the next event  that is set to take place on July 2, 2022. The show will see Sungba singer Asake performing at Diamond Plaza, Nairobi.
