It was all joy and celebrations as Wizkid’s Essence ft. Tems and Justin Beiber won Best Collab at The BET awards 2022.
Tems, upon receiving the award acknowledged WizKid and her African people.
“Thank you so much BET, this award is for Wiz, Africa,” she said as she held up her award, and the crowd cheered her on.
“A great thing is happening out of Africa right now, and the light is on everyone there. This is dedicated to Africa and Nigeria,” she said as she exited the stage.
She also took home, the best international act award.
Wizkid, for reasons best known to him was not around to receive the award.
Starboy was nominated in two categories; the best collaboration and best male RnB/pop artist, together with Blxst, Chris Brown, Giveon, Lucky Daye, and The weeknd. He lost to The Weeknd.
Tems was gorgeously dressed, in a black flowy gown and a sleek hair up-do.
The song Essence, was released earlier last year, it was a marvel for most people.
