American star Taylor Swift is reportedly said to have been engaged. American pundits say that the singer was proposed to by her long-time boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

Reports have it that the 32-year-old singer has been wearing her engagement ring at home, away from the public.

A source told Daily Mail, "Taylor and Joe are incredibly happy, and very, very in love...They've actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner-inner circle — basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends."

Adding that everyone has been sworn to secrecy not to speak about the issue.

"Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn't even told some of her team about the engagement."

Another source told The Sun that Joe wants their love to stay away from the cameras "as much as possible".

"And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely won't be any Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! magazines there. It will be simple and elegant — like them."

At one point Joe said he wasn't going to say whether he is engaged if he actually gets engaged. If he does, he said he was also never going to speak about it.

The couple met at the 2016 Met Gala, and they started talking and started dating months after meeting.

Joe, real name Joseph Matthew Alwyn is an English actor and songwriter. He was born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, and raised in  North London.

On Swift's eighth album, he co-produced the songs "Exile", "Betty", "My Tears Ricochet", "August", "This Is Me Trying" and "Illicit Affairs"

"It's not really [because I] want to be guarded and private, it's more a response to something else. We live in a culture that is so increasingly intrusive... the more you give—and frankly, even if you don't give it—something will be taken," he told Elle.
