Kiss FM presenters Kamene Goro and Oga Obinna along with many Kenyans are disappointed at the rise in fuel prices.
"Three weeks and four days away from the next general elections. My guys, guess what is going to happen today at midnight, fuel prices are going to go up by a whole ten bob. So if you were buying at 184 like me, you'd buy at 194. It means that everything else is going to go up," Kamene said on The Morning Kiss.
She went on to give the maths;
"People who work at the industrial level, for the owner of that company, everything in his entire production company has gone up for another 10 percent. If someone's production cost is 10 million, it means that he has to look for another one million to continue working. This person doesn't have one million to pull out of his pocket, so he is going to start sacking you."
"That means the Mama that sells food doesn't have customers if she doesn't have customers, she's making less money. And the driver who brings the raw material to marikiti, adds money so there's is a scarcity of food. So the Mama has to pay all these prices, so it means you will have to pay more for your food."
Obinna says he's observed the price of bread go up while the size of the bread keeps reducing.
"The size of bread keeps reducing while the price goes up. That chapo smokie you keep eating is going to go up in price because the guy who drops those smokies will increase the price of transport. Let's not talk about gas."
He went on to explain that school fees will also continue to go up.
"Parents' school fees are going to go high because the food they are buying is expensive, transport is expensive, electricity is expensive. Transport will go up."
The duo concluded by agreeing that they can't afford to live in this country "And guess what! They will do it every month, till God knows when."
