Rapper Nadia Nakai who was the girlfriend to the late AKA, South African rapper who died in February is still mourning him.

He was shot outside Wish restaurant in Durban. Since AKA's death, Nadia has kept mourning the man she loved. In a recent social media post, she shared multiple photos of them together, wishing she had not been loved by him.

She said if she hadn't loved him, the pain would have been less.

"Sometimes I wish I never experienced your love. I wish that you were just an acquaintance and I could say “Oh Supa Mega passed away, what a loss for the game”. If I didn’t love you, maybe it would be easier to continue my life without you," she said.

She added;

"Now, because I had been loved by you, it’s just so hard. I have this hole in my heart that won’t let up. The world just doesn’t feel the same. I try to hold onto to my memories of when I was happy before you, maybe if I remember how it was before, I could be like that again. But everything doesn’t feel real."

Nadia disclosed that she had tried doing several things that would help heal her.

"I don’t know if seeing you everyday on social media is better or worse, I don’t know if reading our messages is healing or not. I know I need to get out my house soon, and I know the people that continue to hold me down, will be there for me, thank you, But I just feel like I’ll never be ready. "

"What is my life going to look like now? time heals all, but time really takes its time, and I don’t know when I’ll ever be fine."

Hours after his death, his parents Tony and Lynn Forbes confirmed the death of their son in a statement.

"It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023. We are awaiting further details from the Durban Police."

They went on to describe their son as one who shared love.

"To us. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, was a son, brother. grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo. To many, he was AKA, SUPAMEGA, BHOVA and the many other names of affection his legion of fans called him by. Our son was loved and he gave love in return."

The family further asked for space during that time.

"In this time of grief, we appeal for your compassion, space, and time to congregate as a family to decide on the upcoming days. We thank you for the love and support we have received thus far, and ask you continue to keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord."
