Ambassador Consul General Thomas Kwaka Omolo; Consul General Los Angeles was over the weekend awarded for promoting the development of creative economy in Kenya and the Diaspora by The Diaspora One Voice Consortium (OVC) investors expo in Rockville, Maryland.

The three-day event attracted over 120 participants. The event included exhibitions, panel discussions, and presentations from key stakeholders including academicians, 11 Kenyan MPs from key parliamentary committees, and two Senators, investors, and business owners.

In this year's Expo, numerous awards were given to organizations and individuals who have significantly impacted and are impacting the Kenyan and East African Diaspora in various fields.

Big Ted is a veteran in the Kenyan creative economy and a pillar in the industry where he focuses on bridging Kenya and the Diaspora creative sector.

Besides being a champion of the creatives industry Big Ted is also the chairman of the Kenya Basketball Federation management board and serving member of the World Scout Parliamentary Unions has appointed him to serve as the WSPU Climate Action Ambassador at large an initiative that seeks to support the presidents call to plant 15 million trees and cut carbon emissions.

This win is described as a plus for Big Ted who is credited with being behind most of the promotion efforts of the biggest names in the entertainment industry in Kenya for the last 20 years.
