David the Student, who is known for his ‘schupid’ line and Kalenjin accent was in 2016 accused by a female fan identified as Grace Mboya of conning her. According to the Grace, the comedian acquired money from her under false pretense. In a recent interview with Word Is, she said that David owes her a total of Sh188,650.
HE BORROWED THE MONEY IN JULY (2015) AND FOR SOME TIME NOW I HAVE BEEN CHASING HIM FOR IT. I EVEN GAVE HIM A REPAYMENT LOAN OF SH 20,000 FOR TEN MONTHS BUS STILL HE DID NOT HOUR IT.
The lady later went to report the matter to the police but it seems David’s behavior still hasn’t changed. Early this week, the comedian who currently resides in the USA, was put on the spot by a section of Kenyans he owes thousands of money. One Frank Njoroge took to Facebook to call out the comedian for being a con.
According to Frank, Mike Snr and many others who came out to expose David the student, he has mastered the tricks for conning Kenyans in the diaspora and always lie that he’s raising money for his father whom he claims suffers from cancer, relatives hospitalized in coma, his house robbed etc.

I DON’T KNOW KNOW HOW HE EXPECTS TO EVER GET ANY GIGS IN THE US AGAIN..AND THE PEOPLE HE IS STEALING FROM ARE THE PEOPLE WHO TOOK CARE OF HIM WHEN HE WAS HER. WE DROVE THE GUY AROUND, TOOK HIM OUT, AND THEN HE DOES THIS SH*T.
His promoter Steven Mbugua is also not a happy man and at a point, he was forced to use money he was supposed to pay David for his performance in Seattle to pay off the people he conned in Las Vegas. Mike Snr, who isn’t related to the comedian in any way, also fell for his trap.
This writer has seen screenshots of money sent to David the Student and conversations between him and his lenders. Below is the evidence.
David the Student took to social media to clear the air that he lies to people that his father is suffering from cancer and he admitted to owing people money. He further revealed that comedy in Kenya doesn’t pay and being famous and broke comes with its price. He wrote:
