7-year-old Ugandan rapper, Fresh Kid, whose real name is Patrick Ssenyonjo who was threatened with jail time if he doesn’t stop performing, bags a scholarship.
What had happened was, the young rapper was put on the spot by the Ugandan Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Florence Nakiwala on claims that he was not attending school.
‘‘if the kid disobeys the law he will face juvenile prison,” Nakiwala said.
Fresh Kid was asked to stop performing or risk jail term, a move that saw his manager and parents intervene.
The Ruparelia foundation offered him a scholarship. The 7 year old went to his Instagram and thanked Ruparelia foundation by saying:
‘Thanks to Rajiv. R & Ruperia group of companies, I am honored’

It also emerged that at his tender age, and because of his talent, Fresh Kid is the bread winner for the family.
His poor parents cannot afford to send him to a proper school.
To save the situation, Rajiv Ruparelia, a director at Ruparelia Group, announced that Fresh Kid has been awarded a scholarship to study at Kampala Parents School via the Ruparelia Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Group.
