Diamond Platnumz' hard work is slowly but surely paying off. He is now earning recognition all over the world for his great music, that is ever scooping millions of views.
Billboard, one of the biggest entertainment media brands in America, featured him in one of their publications, noting his success as an artiste and advising Western artistes to emulate the Tanzanian singer if they want to go global on YouTube.
The Billboard analysis shows that the WCB President has managed to garner over 980 million views on YouTube with over 3.6 million sub-subscribers, making him the only artist in Sub-Saharan Africa with such a milestone.
From the article by Billboard, YouTube Music trends manager Kevin Meena who was struck by the innovative approach Diamond takes on his YouTube channel said,
Western artists can learn from what African artistes are doing, particularly the ones who have broken internationally
Adding that he is mind blown by what Diamond has amassed.
"3.6 million subscribers and 980 million views on his channel, about 80% of them from outside of Tanzania. For the measurement period of May 1, 2019, to May 1, 2020, Meenan says that, globally, Kenya, which is on Tanzania’s northern border, drove the most views for Platnumz, followed by Tanzania and the United States. He posted 600 videos in that span. I literally had to check it three times to make sure it was right." Kevin Meena told Billboard
