Whether you like it or not, hair is an accessory. It's part of everyday grooming and it speaks on its own. A hairdresser can either make you look good or make you look like you've been spat out of a goats mouth so tread wisely people. Hair makes a statement, in case you didn't know, especially dreadlocks.

Dreadlocks have been trending for the longest time ever and have made people go bananas. They are made with so much effort and love, leaving most looking oh so ravishing. Dreadlocks are associated with the rastafarians from Jamaica, but in this age, everyone can rock them.

From women to men to kids, many want to be part of the 'dready' fam. But something people do not understand is that, this style is not for everyone and a lot of care and attention needs to be put to consideration.

Some of our Kenyan celebrities have made locks look so good that make you consider rushing to the salon and making magic happen. But others have decided to shave them off. I guess it gets tiring at some point or maybe some just want some change. Change is good, right?

Having dreadlocks is also kinda tricky and scary. Why am I saying this? Well, a while back, around 2013, there were cases of dreadlocks theft in South Africa where by people were literally stealing or rather cutting off other people's dreadlocks off their heads so as to sell them. Reports said that shoulder length dreadlocks would go for about 2,000 to 8,000 shillings while longer ones would go up to 30,000 shillings. This was a really ugly time for many who wore this popular hairstyle.

Many of our local gospel artistes wear dreadlocks; from the likes of Juliani, Kenty of M.O.G, Dj Sadiq, among others.

One very talented gospel artiste has decided to chop his locks with reasons only known to him. DK Kwenye Beat is the man who underwent the wrath of the scissors. Taking a video while cutting his dreads, one can see the people around him are shocked by the step he took.
