The gospel singer faced the wrath of Kenyans but never once did he give his side of the story until now. I guess the pressure was too much prompting him to address it on his youtube channel.
He recorded a two-part video where he laid down the facts. He even produced documents to disprove allegations by Peter Blessing.
Bahati alleged Peter has not left EMB records because he has not terminated the contract and that whoever is advising him, is misleading Peter.
Bahati insists his detractors are trying to bring him down, by using his singee's to frustrate the EMB CEO.
“I signed Peter Blessing and you need to understand I was not in it for money. I wanted to touch someone’s life with God’s help for the best for him. I wanted to be like a parent to him. I am speaking with the Bible next to me.We chose to do things that are not in the contract and you guys saw me in Bahati reality picking him up. I woke up at 4 am. According to our guidelines, it was to take him a year before releasing any music but the human in me didn’t want to follow that.
My focus was not contract-based and I wanted to take him back to school and that’s why I visited the parents. I spent over 300k to shoot his first video. We went with a team of 22 guys who weren’t there for CSR, they were on a salary. I even sacrificed my social media as a brand ambassador to shy away from brands but promote Peter Blessing who wasn’t paying me.
I even forgot about Bahati and my music and supported all my artists. I focused on so many projects even when I knew there was no money being made out of them. With this economy, even my director knew no money was coming in and they were against it.
We did it all from interviews etc. When it was time for him to go back to school, he said he wants to sing more songs. I knew come 2020 he has to go back to school.
I could not imagine the boy I picked from being a soldier changed and became the guy who wouldn’t listen to his officials. Manager, social media managers his PA all of them. The celebrity mentality got to his head which made so many things difficult.
I sat down with him severally telling him we are sacrificing a lot for you to be great. Learn to be grateful because tomorrow you’ll be the one taking us to blogs. I know fame changes a person in a minute. Even with all these reports.
My concerns became serious when I saw his relations with women became too much. He lived with his manager and it was like a lodging. I did so much for him and I didn’t want to wake up hearing he has impregnated someone he was too young for this.
As a parent the moment I sat him down he was like it is not like that. Having a girlfriend is not bad but it’s risky when you see someone exchanging from one to another.
My concern was also how people were complaining about him. I used to sit him down like a brother and father. Peter Blessing used to get monthly money for food.
My biggest shock was 31st December I was on stage performing and I saw him with my own eyes on the right side of backstage to see my boy being held by a girl and I was like aii. But I played it cool.
The year began and one thing he didn’t know I had booked a school for him to go to school.
The first money I signed in 2020 was for his school fees in a school near Ruiru.
The management got a shocking of their life. They had an issue and called him for a meeting. He said he doesn’t feel like beating them. It got out of hand so they had to involve me.
On 3rd January I called the parents. I explained to the mother and told her I’ve stopped management from any disciplinary action but she should talk to him. I sent him to Taita. He told 900. I gave Peter 3000 for transport and anything he needs on the road. That is where the 3000 came from and not after a performance as is being reported.
We decided to be tough because we’ve seen so many bridge contracts and have gone away saying Bahati will not do anything.
He signed in the contract which says even his name and so many other things and he cannot use unless we sign and agree. Blessing had already gone out to record other songs which is bridging the contract. I asked management and lawyers to forgive him and he said he will start following the contract.
When I sent him home to talk to the parents instead he went to his advisers who told him how is Bahati dictating your life? These advisers told Peter that Bahati can’t do anything. A few hours after going through the contract, he had already declared he is out of EMB. And he hasn’t sent a termination letter. I told my company not to take legal action because of petty things.
Next thing we got a letter from a lawyer and please remember he has not terminated his contract. It was a demand letter from a law firm yet they had not done their research. According to the letter, it said he has made millions on various platforms and so in 14 days he wants a sum of Ksh 1 million.
According to Skiza Tunes, all his songs as of last year Peter Blessing made a total of ksh507. When it got to this I was unable to stop management from taking legal action because there was a contract that was agreed upon and signed.

Bahati was so hurt by the stories being purported about him and that is what caused him to take legal action. He mentioned he will take a pause on helping artistes and he will focus on opening a children’s home. People who will not want to trend with his name.
