Betty Kyallo just suspended operations at her 'Flair by Betty' salon, schools have closed indefinitely and employers have sent their people home in order to curb the spread of the virus.
However one sector that has been hugely hit yet not many are highlighting is the entertainment industry.
Artists survive through music sales but most importantly through gigs and many have canceled their tours and performances amid the pandemic, that means money is running short.
Frasha, formerly of P-unit today must have woke u withone agenda in mind, addressing issues affecting his colleagues especially this period.
Through his Instagram page, Frasha had a few ideas with him which he used to call upon the government as well as music distributing platforms.
Among these ideas including paying artists at the end of every month.
Frasha wrote;
The music and entertainment industry is one of the most affected industries during this pandemic. Help me reach out to the government and other music selling platforms, CMOs, music aggregators to support the artist by;
- Paying the rtists every end month
2.Advance weekly payments on sales
- Government to cushion the artists
- Safaricom skiza to help cushion the artists as a moral obligation
Frasha went ahead to call on 10 other artists to help push the message, among them being; Nonini, Khaligraph Jones, Willy Paul, Size 8, Bahati and Jaguar.
