Yeah by now we are slowly normalizing the idea of staying indoors and having minimal interactions with people, of course thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic.

But have we really taken a moment and thought about those who will or rather are dearly affected, plans ruined and relationships now hanging by a thread?

How about I walk you through some of these groups who have been dearly affected by the quarantine routine.

Anniversaries

Imagine the number of couples who were due to celebrate their anniversaries from the time Coronavirus hit Kenya till probably early May. Venues booked, tickets booked and time spent all going down the drain.

Those whom their birthdays fall between March through May also are having a rough time, because this means close to no celebrations and unless they focus on the fact they are alive, they surely won't have great memories.

Terminally ill

First of all this group must be the most affected right now. Right now all eyes, attention and resources are directed towards Coronavirus patients.

All of a sudden no one cares about the Cancer and other terminally ill patients, what's worse is that even their family members can't really visit them as they would wish.

Elderly

The elderly require some special sort of attention which obviously requires dedicated family members to pull it off. We all know they can be a piece of work.

Now imagine if there's a shosho somewhere who relies on her children to travel up country and look after them, but can't travel on a regular with this situation.

Co parents

Adults practicing co-parenting are also going through a rough patch right now. They know they have to practice social distancing and minimise the number of people they are coming in contact with.

Now, no parent would want to put their kids at risk and instead of tossing them around, it means they would rather settle at one party's residence for the time being.

As much as this is a logical and a wise decision, the other party will definitely feel left out.

Depressed and anxiety issues

Let us take a moment and think about the depressed people and those with anxiety issues. We all know these people need some special kind of attention and care.

I feel for them and all I can do is hope they don't live alone or far from their loved ones. I can't begin to imagine what could happen if the country went on total lock down.
