To get that perfectly smooth skin you need to have a daily skincare routine but that's not all it takes. Daily you could be doing a number of things that are destroying your perfect face and you might not know it.
1.Taking hot showers
Hot showers are one of life's greatest pleasures but constantly taking a hot shower is actually damaging your skin. Hot showers dehydrate your skin and leave it open to damage and acne outbreaks. Taking hot showers every now and then isn't bad but every day that's a no-no. Instead, you should try to take warm showers. The best option is taking cold ones but one step at a time.
2.High amounts of caffeine
Coffee is great but drinking high amounts of it on a daily basis is terrible for your face. If you are a frequent drinker of coffee you might want to hold it back a bit or drink more water.
Caffeine increases your stress levels which in turn increases hormone levels such as cortisol which increase the amount of oil produced leading to acne breakouts.
3. Constantly touching your face
Think about it how many things do you touch in a day. According to a study done by the University of Colorado, your hands contain up to 3600 germs and bacteria. Imagine all that bacteria on your face.
It just leads to clogged pores and skin infection which eventfully leads to pimples forming on your face. You avoid touching your face constantly in order to prevent this from happening.
4. Not washing your face after working out
Your sweat contains a number of impurities like urea. That sweat gets on your face after working out coupled with the bacteria on your face leading to serious facial skin problems.
You want to wash your face immediately after working out with an appropriate facial was to make sure you prevent this from happening.
5. High amounts of alcohol
Alcohol is a natural dehydrator. Your body is made up of 60% water and your skin needs that water to stay elastic which keeps it looking youthful. Drinking high amounts of alcohol dehydrates your skin depriving it of all the nutrients it needs to be elastic. You might want to avoid alcohol consumption in high amounts to prevent this from happening or if that's too much for you drink plenty of water in the process.
6. Your pillowcases
Your pillow is harboured an insane amount of bacteria. All the dirt and germs on your face get on to your pillow and multiply. To prevent this you have to change your pillowcase every two weeks wash and replace them.
7. Chlorine
Chlorine in swimming pools dehydrates the skin not just on your face but the entire body. To prevent this shower after swimming in pools with chlorine and I don't mean like water running over your body. I mean like with soap and a washcloth. Afterward, moisturize your skin and your good to go.
8. Using bar soaps
Bar soaps dry the hell out of your skin. You might not notice it on your body but your face will definitely tell. Avoid using the same soap you use to wash your body on your face. Get a proper facial wash made for your skin type and get a proper skincare routine. To make things simple this is all you need:-
- AM moisturizer
- PM moisturizer
- Facial wash
- Exfoliating product
Wash your face twice a day using the facial moisturizer and during the day use the AM moisturizer and at night use the PM moisturizer and exfoliate twice a week.
9. Over exfoliation
When you exfoliate your skin, remember only twice a week. Exfoliating your skin removes the dead skin cells from your face. Over exfoliation leaves your fresh skin exposed to harsh weather conditions which could be harmful to your face.
10. Talking on your phone
When you text on your phone the dirt on your hands gets on to your phone screen and the dirt on the phone screen gets to your face when you call someone. All that bacteria gets on your face and leads to acne breakouts. To avoid this you should wipe your skin with an anti-bacterial wipe every day or use your earphones when on a call.
