Gospel singer Mercy Masika was running late for a meeting at 14 Riverside Drive on Tuesday afternoon. The reason for her tardiness is the fact that comedian Jalango had double parked and locked her in.

This annoying act turned out to be on of the best things that happened in the Mwema singer's life.

Mercy Masika together with Ariel Kenya were to unveil a campaign dubbed Ultimate Guarantee to reward Domestic Managers (DMs) across the country.

Speaking on why the campaign is close to her heart, Masika states:

“We are known to reward people for the efforts they put in improving society but we don’t often recognize the amazing work done by our domestic managers. As part of the Ariel family, we hope to touch the lives of these underappreciated women by offering them various tokens of appreciation.”

Mercy Masika was in a hurry to for a salon appointment in preparation for the launch.

However, at 3:30 pm, the terror gunmen struck.

The meeting was not to be and the launch set for the next day was cancelled. Sharing the information with media, her team wrote:

As a result of the attack on Dusit Hotel along Riverside Drive, we have postponed tomorrow’s event to a later date. We shall confirm the new date once the brand decided on a date and the situation is more conducive."

It has now turned out that Jalango was Mercy's saving grace.

Jalango revealed:

"God wins! #DusitAttack. So Mercy Masika and I are involved in an upcoming consumer promotion and so we were invited for a meeting at the client office," he said.

"I was in another meeting so I get to client meeting after Mercy! Driving in, the client parking is full so I am forced to double park blocking other cars!" Jalango narrated, "I walk into the meeting and client has finished briefing Mercy and she is in a hurry for her saloon appointment since the next day is the launch date and she has to look the part!"

He continued, "She hurriedly leaves only to find her car blocked so they call me to move my car but I give out my car key so there is a bit of delay! When she leaves not more than 20mins later news of the attack at Dusit where she was going for her appointment quickly spread! Waaaaa!"

Here is a screenshot of a Whatsapp message Mercy sent Jalango.

"Your car blocked us yesterday while I was going to my salon at Dusit for my 3:30pm appointment. God used your car to delay us. We thank God."
