Remember when EMB had a massive launch party and the members came out dressed in red and gold? This is the same day Bahati announced he was signing gospel singer tRebecca Sokio his label.

Bahati went all out signing in a couple of amazing and talented artistes such as Rebecca Soki, David Wonder and Mr Seed and now 3 years later, none of them are part of the EMB family.

Soki was initially hesitant to confirm she had left the outfit, saying she didn’t want there to be bad blood. She said:

MIMI NILITOKA KITAMBO KULIKO KILA MTU! (I left earlier than any other artistes)

Rebecca Soki says she left because she wanted freedom. She said her friendship with the EMB CEO Bahati was still good, although she does not see him anymore.

She also clarified that claims that she stole the beat for “Baraka Zangu”  weren’t true. Some have observed that the beats between her song and international artiste Claydee’s song, “Hey Ma” are similar, something she denied.

She said that she had been caught up in a fight between Bahati and the other side. She also did not like the secular styles EMB had used on “Baraka Zangu”. She said that after the fiasco she no longer felt at peace in the EMB ship.

She tried to endure life at the studio but she says she couldn’t and had to depart.

Was the experience at EMB worth it for her? She responded with a question:

how will it help me and i have left them the song? the song brought a lot of beef. the man bahati had a PROBLEM with blocked the song so it's not even been sold. you see

Did she gain anything from going to EMB?

Nothing at all. i actually regret going there

To make things worse, Rebecca Soki also alleges Bahati is profiting from her old songs despite her saying she owns the rights.

he is not a nice guy and he has a lot pride. he thinks the world belongs to him

We tried to reach out to Bahati for comment but our texts, messages, calls and DMs on Instagram went unanswered.
