Vanessa Mdee has opened up about her education. Something that she rarely, if ever, talks about.
She is a very talented songbird and has created a big brand for herself internationally but the truth is when it comes to school, she did not finish her college studies.
Mdee said that her father’s death left them with serious financial challenges and they could not afford school fees.
That is when she then took up the job at MTV Africa as the first Tanzanian MTV VJ. She, later on, hosted a series of other TV shows in Tanzania including radio shows.
I dropped out of college when Dad died to pursue my career at MTV AFRICA because we couldn’t afford it anymore. Today I return to that very same college as a judge on @eastafricagt to see someone else’s dreams become a reality. Bittersweet memories BE GONE, we are making history
Now, Vanessa, is the Tanzanian judge of East Africa’s Got Talent semi-finals alongside Jeff Koinange from Kenya and Gaitano from Uganda.
She has been able to make major strides in the entertainment industry.
