Sauti Sol gave us a lit Instagram Live concert on Sunday 22nd March to encourage Kenyans to stay home and quarantine.

They almost hit the 10,000 mark with 99% of the views being Kenyans who were just sending love to them and requesting songs from way back.

Because of how successful the concert was, they decided they will have one with more time on Youtube come Friday, 28th March.

"Sending lots of love to everyone who tuned into our IG Live concert last night. It sucks the stream ended automatically after 60mins as we had more requests to play, it must be the IG limit. But no worries, we gotchu this coming Saturday, March 28th. We'll be doing a full set with our band on YouTube for all the fans who had wished to see us live at @thejazzcafe in London on the same day. Please note that all tickets purchased will remain valid for the new dates when announced. Watu wa jana pale VVIP section anzeni kutafuta outfits, drip is a must 💧😆. #STAYHOME and jam with us. TAG YOUR DATE AND SEND YOUR REQUESTS 👇🏿" They posted

After further consultations with their management team, they have been forced to cancel the much anticipated live concert.

"Following the cancellation of our UK tour date at Jazz café on the 28 we were optimistic that we could stream to a Live Concert on Youtube to make up for the disappointment. Unfortunately, with the rising cases of Covid- 19, we must cancel the YouTube concert scheduled for this Saturday 28 March. We have to prioritize the urgent need for our band, friends, families and team member's safety. But hey, we still love you and we wanna make your lockdown and isolation worthwhile by dropping the second single off our upcoming album #midnightTrain next Friday. April 3. Tell a friend #Stayhome#Lockdown#Togetherathome” Read Sauti Sol's release

Fans who were disappointed by this announcement shared their sentiments and one asked why they have canceled an online concert seeing as the virus cannot be spread online.

Sauti Sol went ahead to explain further saying,

Streaming a full live performance requires a sizable crew, band and team members to pull it off. It would be so irresponsible of us to risk their lives and those of their families. We must look out for each other in this unprecedented time.

So stay home guys because remember the people move the virus so if you stay home, there is no risk. And wash your hands as often as possible.
