Hundreds of revellers turned up for the annual Jack Daniel's Birthday at Blackyz Lounge in Hurlingham in Nairobi.

The event saw scores of attendees treated to the brand's favourites like Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey Whiskey, Jack Daniel's Old No. 7, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select, Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack and the new Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire.

Jack Daniels’ Kenya Brand Manager, Zara Kuria who attended the event at Blackyz Lounge said, "We are proud to join the world in celebrating Jack Daniel's birthday and as a brand, we're using this opportunity to interact with our brand consumers who are globally referred to as Jack and friends, in different establishments in Nairobi.

Some of the establishments that are celebrating with us are DejaVu, Mercury Lounge, Jiweke Tavern, Blend, Milan, Curries Bar and Restaurant and we'll also have brunch at Brew Bistro on the 28th of September."

Why September?

The earliest documentation of Jack’s birth was destroyed in a town fire. So no one can ever truly know his actual date of birth. It’s an ever-elusive tidbit of information, too old to verify by about 150 years.

Now, when it comes to celebrating Jack’s birthday, there’s little mystery to the matter. Rather than squabble over a single day to celebrate, whiskey lovers around the world take the ENTIRE month of September to toast the founder’s life. 30 full days of birthday.

As we continue celebrating Jack's birthday this month, see press and posters for details on where the next celebration will be.
