On friday, word on the street was that 2 chainz was not going to show up for the anticipated Jameson party. The news first shared by Former radio queen, Caroline Mutoko sparked alot of reactions, most Kenyans disappointed by the news.
Later, 2 Chainz confirmed that he was indeed not coming. Through twitter the rapper said he had rescheduled to December 12th. Jameson, the main sponsors of the event were however silent on the matter untill just recently when they sent the following message through social media
JAMESON Irish Whiskey Kenya regrettably announces the rescheduling of the 2Chainz appearance at the Jameson Live Party on Saturday, November 1 2014. Due to unavoidable circumstances beyond Jameson’s control, 2chainz is unable to travel. The headline act is confirmed to perform in Nairobi, Kenya on the weekend of December 12 2014 at Ngong Racecourse. Recognising the excitement and loyalty shown by Jameson fans, Jameson Live will still go ahead as scheduled on November 1 .
Denis Ochanine, Pernod Ricard Regional Director East Africa and CEO Pernod Ricard Kenya notes ‘we sincerely regret the disappointment to our audience, Jameson drinkers and partners. We are equally saddened. However, in recognition for your enthusiasm the show must go on’.
He further highlighted ‘in the true Jameson spirit we will ensure all party-goers have an exceptional Jameson experience’.
Performing artists as part of the original line up include: DJ Stylez; the pioneer of DJs in East Africa from the Code Red unit. Performances by local rapper Kaligraph Jones and hip hop artist Kristoff and DJ Hasan from Homeboyz.
All ticket holders will be given entry to the Jameson Live Party on November 1 as well as complimentary entry to the 2chainz performance on the weekend of December 12 2014
