In the build up to his album, Kanye West granted an interview to Zane Lowe and he revealed the lengths he expected his people to go to while working on his music. And this was a condition for everyone involved in the album.
Speaking with no small measure of pride in his voice about his upcoming gospel album, Kanye West explained that he asked his team to all go celibate and abstain from sex:
There were times where I was asking people not to have premarital sex while they were working on the album
And Kanye West might actually be onto something given the concept of "sex transmutation".
Sex transmutation is actually simple and easily explained. It means the switching of the mind from thoughts of physical expression, to thoughts of some other nature. That means you go from using your mental and physical energy for sex to channelling that energy into creative endeavours.
Napoleon Hill was a huge proponent for the concept, even writing about it in his book Think and Grow Rich.
