Actress Kerry Washington gives a speech during women’s panel at ACLU

Kerry Washington is a successful actress with a lengthy resume. She lent her voice as an activist during the ACLU Conference in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning.

The 41-year-old actress looked lovely sporting a black blouse and matching trousers for the women’s panel at the event aptly themed You Belong Here.

Kerry rocked a flowing black blouse which featured small circular silver studs across her top.

She kept her long legs covered with a pair of black skinny jeans that were hemmed just above her ankles.

The Django Unchained star kept her curly hair tied back into a chic top bun and donned a pair of large silver hoop earrings.

She barely sported any makeup aside from bold brows, a bit of mascara on her lashes and a swipe of pink lipstick.

The conference, the theme of which is #YouBelongHere, will bring together a wide variety of powerful voices in activism, politics, journalism, and entertainment to reflect on our current political environment and strategize for the challenges ahead, according to the website.

‘This will be a chance for our activists and advocates to mobilize and energize ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.’ 

The New York City native recently wrapped her ABC political drama series Scandal after portraying crisis manager Olivia Pope for seven seasons.

The actress will make a return to Broadway later this year with a starring role in American Son, according to an article by Broadway World.

The play written by Christopher Demos-Brown and directed by Kenny Leon will begin performances on October 8 with an official opening on November 4.

Kerry made her Broadway debut in 2010 in David Mamet’s Race also starring James Spader, David Alan Grier and Richard Thomas.


The Fantastic Four star has been married since 2013 to former NFL player turned actor Nnamdi Asomugha, 36, and they have two children together.
