Although he might not be the Mombasa governor anymore, Ali Hassan Joho is still making the headlines.
Why you might ask? Off course his lavish lifestyle is the most likely reason for that.
This past week, a photo of the politician wearing an expensive Richard Mille watch went viral.
The eye-watering price!? The watch costs between an estimated sh 32 million and sh 45 million depending on the version he got.
According to the watchmakers themselves, the watch was released in 2007 in collaboration with former F1 driver, Felipe Massa.
Celebs like French Montana, Jay Z, Jose Mourinho and even Floyd Mayweather have been spotted with a version of the watch, which has become a status symbol.
Details about the watch
It is limited to 150 pieces world wide and was released in 2007 and was named after the eponymous former F1 driver, Felipe Massa.
The RM 011 takes its cues from the high-tech precision engineering of F1 racing cars developed to deliver exceptional performance on the track.
This limited time piece is housed on a rubber strap and features the typical RM details including a tonneau shaped carbon case with titanium bezel.
The dial is skeletonized and is driven by a movement unlike any other. The RMAC1 calibre is an automatic chronograph equipped with a variable-geometry rotor.
The flyback chronograph function can reset without stopping and offers a countdown function.
"The watch is driven by a movement unlike any other. The RMAC1 calibre is an automatic chronograph equipped with a variable-geometry rotor. The flyback chronograph function can reset without stopping and offers a countdown function. It also features an annual calendar with oversize date," the watchmaker wrote on its site.
It also features an annual calendar with oversize date. Water resistant up to 50 meters or 165 feet.
Another added function of the watch was that thanks to its titanium movement affixed to a superstiff case with silent-blocks, the watch has aerodynamic pushers machined with non-slip ribbing. The crown resembles a smooth tyre encircling a spoked wheel rim.
Some Kenyans were doubtful about whether the governor was actually wearing an expensive watch and said that it might be a fake.
Some of the comments are below;
josefi@MuliJoemuli2007 vitu zingine mnsema hapa ni vaku tu ama hizi saa ni feki. mtu amevaa saa ya 35m kwani ametuibia ngapi.
The Musambuli….@burizikiriegi I thought so……. Lazima iwe ni fake. Saa ununue 45m aje sasa?1
A man is no one@kibee RMs are expensive and ugly. But check the material used in making them. Same na ya Airforce one.
But it is very possible that 001 as many know call him could be able to splurge on such a luxury item, considering the purchases he has been seen with in the past.
In 2018, Sultan was seen driving a Ferrari California, a luxury vehicle that costs anywhere between 30-40 million shillings!
That's not all, just last week the flashy leader showed of his 3 pet giraffes to Kenyans on Instagram.
How about that!?
