Over the past week, Stella McCartney unveiled young stars for her latest POP perfume campaign, with the latest star being Madonna’s eldest daughter, Lourdes “Lola” Leon.

19-year-old Lourdes Leon, who is a musical theater major at the University of Michigan takes on the role alongside Amandla Stenberg, Grimes, and Kenya Kinski-Jones.

Announced on Stella McCartney’s Instagram account, she described Lourdes as “an independent, inspirational and free-spirited young woman.” Her flawless finger tattoos and pastel hair are a testament of this.

Described as the fragrance for millennials, POP perfume is Stella’s first fragrance in four years. The scent will be available at select Stella McCartney stores from March 24th and in Sephora starting April 7th.

Lourdes, being born in the spotlight, has carefully limited her exposure by paparazzi and mainstream media.

“I have a lot of people judging my every move,” Lourdes Leon told Vogue. “It’s important for me to not let it rule my life.”

Seeing McCartney’s call for girl power and camaraderie drove Lourdes to work with the designer who is also a longtime friend of Lourdes’ mother, Madonna. The campaign offers self-acceptance and positive mutual support among women, something that is the polar opposite of what happens on most social media outlets.

Marching to the beat of her own drum, much like her mother, it won’t be long before Lourdes is making waves in pop culture on her own.
