Being a celebrity comes with its territory. But none of y’all would know about them if someone didn’t take their time to actually sit down and have a one on one with the artists. It takes a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, email correspondence and Skype conversations to nail a Hollywood interview. Most of the times, you’ll get NOs.
Well, meet Harun Momanyi. A 22-year-old young man who has gone far and beyond to interview some of the biggest artist in Africa as well as internationally.
He has interviewed the likes of renowned director Hannah Lux Davis, Justin Campos, L.A.X, Yemi Alade, Vanessa Mdee, Eddy Kenzo and Samantha J.
Harun reiterates that getting to interview these big artists sometimes is not easy. He has to convince them about the value they will get by being interviewed by him. He even goes ahead to show them the impressive work he has done at the age of just 22.
Despite the ups and downs, he puts his head up and hopes that he will get something productive out of the emails sent. He believes big time in taking risks because nothing comes easy.
Apart from working for a media house, this brave young man has his own lifestyle blog, www.momanyiharun.com which he started in 2012. Running the blog has been an uphill task but it has paid off pretty well as he has managed to interview some of the biggest names in the global showbiz and tech industry. For example, who knew that a young Kenyan writer would interview Susan Bennett, the voice of Apple’s Siri?
“If you asked me where I would be right now, I wouldn’t have an actual response, but so many doors have opened up for me and I’m hoping for a better tomorrow,” he said.
