And by Wednesday the Malibu singer was sharing sweet images to social media from the low-key nuptials.
The blonde beauty, 26, was seen hugging and kissing the Australian actor, whom she met on the set of their 2010 movie The Last Song.
Cyrus had on a long cream satin gown that looked very Old Hollywood. And Liam was in a sharp black suit and tie with a white shirt.
The former TV actress did not leave a comment on her images on Instagram but she did tweet, '10 years later.'
Fans were quick to comment. Most of the feedback was very positive with fans gushing about her dress and the setting.
One woman added, 'The best couple in the universe.'
Earlier in the week her friend Conrad Carr took to Instagram to share a snapshot of the lovebirds preparing to cut a cake together.
In the telling image from Carr, Miley is resplendent in ger gown as she stands before Liam, 28, whose hand rests under hers.
