Netflix's hit series La Casa de Papel - Money Heist - has set a new Netflix viewing record after Part 3 dropped on July 19.

The Netflix US Twitter confirmed that, '34,355,956 households around the world watched La Casa de Papel Part 3 in its first week!'

Variety confirmed that viewership number was the, 'best first-week global result ever for a Netflix non-English-language series.'

The show also set records as the most-watched Netflix series and/or film of all time in several different territories around the world.

Among the countries where the show had record numbers include series creator Alex Pina's home country Spain, along with France, Argentina, Brazil and Portugal.

'We are proud of bringing stories that are made in Spain, to the world,' said Diego Ávalos, Netflix's director of originals in Spain.

Part 3 of the hit series debuted globally on July 19, with Netflix also revealing that over 70% of those who watched the series, roughly 24 million people, finished the eight-episode season within one week.

By comparison, the third season of Stranger Things was watched in its entirety within the first week by 18.2 million people.

Stranger Things Season 3 set a global viewing record with 40.7 million household accounts watching the season in its first four days.

Money Heist is much different from your typical American TV series, since it blends action, drama, comedy and other elements simultaneously.

The first two seasons centered on The Professor (Alvaro Morte), who recruits a wide array of criminals to pull off a heist at the Royal Mint of Spain.

The show highlights, 'the marginalized, how they find a way forward. It’s something we can all identify with,' said Avalos.
