Oscar winner Lupita Nyongo won two awards at the recently concluded NAACP image awards.
Lupita bagged the best actress in a motion picture for the movie Us, and also best outstanding literary work for her book Sulwe.
Lupita did not attend the event as she was in Nigeria for a special event with Chimamanda Ngozi. She however took to social media to pay gratitude for the recognition.
Oh my goodness I just got news about the best actress award from the NAACP image awards for the us movie, I just wanna say thank you so much, I’m so sorry that I couldnt be there myself. Im away in my homeland doing some work and I just want to share how honoured I am,so so deeply honouredfor this kind of recognition.
Lupita has been recognized for her other works and bagged awards such as - the screen actor guild award for the most outstanding performance by a female actor. She was also recognized at the BET awards for the best actress in 2014.
