But perhaps there is more to Huddah than meets the eye. Afterall, Huddah is actually a successful entrepreneur (maybe the terms that best suits her is an entrepanua) who runs her own cosmetic company so perhaps we should pay heed to what she has to say. Especially now that she has smoked some sort of bhangi that has made her speak like 10 wise women.
Huddah decided to talk about the fact that African men and women seem to be of the opinion that children are not just wealth but are also an insurance policy for old age. So the conventional African wisdom is for couples to have children even though they can barely afford to feed themselves.
Huddah is talking about the fact that when women get to a certain age, they get inundated with questions of when the babies will come. Huddah is aware of the pressure young couples just starting off their life together get from their in-laws who crow on about wanting grandkids.
Huddah had the following to say about that pressure:
Don´t bring kids in this life if you have no capability of feeding them! Or giving them an education or healthcare! That stupid mentality of kids are a blessing needs to die out. Bless their environment first, then bring them. Kids don’t come out of the v* with a wallet full of cash!
But you can see deep down they are depressed as f*! I don’t wanna be pregnant and still hustling and worried about my kid’s future… I want to raise my legs on top of the table and breastfeed my baby for 2yrs straight! Or until they get tired😂. I want to have all the time with my babies, teaching them what I know now. Not spending an hour with them then rushing out worried 24-7.
