It has emerged that Jacque Maribe's soon to be hubby, Joe 'Jowie' Irungu, did some VIP security work for former women representative, Joyce Lay.

This was March 2017 during the general elections.

Joyce Lay was running for the Taita Taveta county senate seat.

She told media,“Politics is all about numbers and we have to sit where the cake is being shared.”

Joyce Lay lost.

Photos of the two on the campaign trail has emerged with Jowie trailing him in two major events that has seen.

One event seems to be very high profile with even President Uhuru Kenyatta in attendance.

Jowie got to rub shoulders with the who is who in power during the campaign season. But it seems like the contact did not yield business for his security business.

The second event was in the interior of Taita Taveta where Joyce Lay was meeting with farmers. Jowi can be seen assisting her up a steep hill as they head out to the venue of the event.

Joyce Lay shared the photos on her Instagram page with the caption: "#Empowerment"

The other photos had the captions:

"Heading to meet Taita Taveta Farmers who were among the beneficiaries of NGAAF #Empowerment."

After she lost the seat to Jones Mwaruma, she could not keep Jowie's services or pay for them. He was let go.

Here are photos of Jowie carrying out his duties as a bodyguard for a VIP which includes carrying her handbag.
