Police theorise that one of the motives for Monicah Kimani's senseless murder could be money.

The 28-year-old business woman was found dumped in her bathtub at her posh apartment in Kilimani.

Monicah's hands had been bound behind her back, her mouth tapped shut and her throat slit, ear to ear.

So far, TV journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiance Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu have been arrested in connection to the murder.

They took a plea of "not guilty" to the charge of murder and are expected back in court on Wednesday for the bail hearing.

Also a team of detectives has been to Mombasa in search of another suspect believed to have been in the company of Jowie on the day Monicah was killed.

Police are trying to trace the whereabouts of the murder weapon and two sets of keys - that of Monica’s house and her car - which are missing. The killer weapon is key in the murder charge of both Jowie and Jacque.

Sections of the media also claim that some money was stolen from Monicah's house.

In Juba, Monica was running the family business, Milly Paul General Trading Ltd, which was started by her father. The business was a sucess and as such Monica was said to have lived a flashy lifestyle.

According to the Nairobian tabloid, Monicah had just purchased homes in Ruaka and Imara Daima. She had also bought parcels of land in Joska that is along Kangundo Road.

Check the photos out Monicah showing off a bag of money and bundles of crisps 100 USD notes. They were posted on her Instagram page.

In one of the posts she coyly writes, "happy new month." While in another she add, "Oopps".
