Since Coronavirus made everything brought everything to a standstill, we have been sympathising with those who are in relationships, especially the ones who will have to wait for months to see their loves.
However, my question is, have we really sat down and thought about these other relationships that people take for granted yet make life much better?

As unethical as it is to have relations with your colleagues, we can all agree the thrill and the adrenaline rush that comes with flirting and hanging out with them is out of this world.
Now imagine, from enjoying those after work walks to the bus stops to sharing snacks, now the closest office lovers can come into contact is via video chats.

Before all this, Swvl services had already taken root in most towns thanks to its convenience, most customers were always looking forward to Sundays so as to book their weekly rides.
Some, I included, had already made friends with whom we would commute together from time to time. Now I do not have a traveling partner with whom I would share my daily shenanigans at work.

Before you roll your eyes on me, you have to understand that I am not focused on just any type of friendship. Friendships mean deep bonds which cannot be easily broken despite time or even distance.
In this case I am talking about friendships that largely depend or rely on physical meetings. The kind of people who will only come see you only if you are buying food and drinks.
It is safe to say these types of friendships are slowly dying a natural death.

With the bars closed, many people are suffering especially now that they can't even risk buying booze, since no one knows how tomorrow will be.
A while back, even without enough cash, they had a bartender or bar owners who would sell them drinks on credit thanks to the trust they developed.
This sort of relationship also extends to that mama kibandaski, where you would eat at discounted prices during lunch breaks.

In order to help curb the spread of Covid-19, all learning institutions were forced to close early, hence affecting everything.

Teachers pets who largely relied on snitching on their classmates for survival and favoritism during exams, now they have to deal with the harsh reality that they can only get that kind of love and treatment from their parents.
