Last night, longtime friends became business partners with a lot of drama involved. Flamboyant businessman Kevin Obia and Radio presenter Shaffie Weru launched their entertainment company A one which was held in Dusit D2.

The event was graced by the biggest names in the entertainment world as they celebrated a new venture to help support the local entertainment industry. The MC Martin Kimathi, who was sharply dressed for the role, was cut short by kanju as they swept in and arrested him in his dapper suit.

Just as the event went on, the Nairobi City Council came in and raided the party claiming they need to shut everything down! Shaffie Weru and some directors, Martin Kimathi, DJ and the ushers were all put in the truck and taken to Central Police Station unaware of what crime they had committed.

We reached out to Shaffie Weru to explain the ordeal of one of his biggest nights and he said:

But, alas! Before we could seat and have our dinner the event was invaded by the county government who arrested the ushers and the company directors.I have always expected to one day get caught in a serious altercation with the law but not Kanjo. The askaris crudely stormed the event put handcuffs on me and my partners and threw us in the back of their old ass pickups and struggled to drive us to Central Police Station.

This was a sad encounter for the growth of the entertainment scene and also an embarrassment to the organizers because people were left whispering any rumor that they could think of.

Other than all the handcuff drama, the invited guests turned up in large numbers and were well dressed representing their brand.
