"Rare" is Selena's third solo album since she joined the industry. It was launched on the 10th of January this year by Interscope records.
This album comes after her album "Revival" that she released in 2015. Quite a while for someone in the pop music industry.
Within these four years, Selena Gomez has been in the eye of the public in all her social media pages. she has battled Lupus, anxiety and depression and breakups. Yes in plural. Selena has had to encounter two high profile breakups.
In one of the interviews with lulu Garcia-Navvaro she said that she was active on social media about her life because she wanted to tell her story the way she wanted.
Her song is a representation of her struggle for the past four years. She said that the word rare meant so much to her, that we live in a time where everything is based on your looks and social media. That there are so many channels telling people what to look like. That she wants to be the person that says, " you are who you are, you are unique and rare" hence her new album;
