Netflix has had a pretty successful run at making their own original series’ so far.

From the likes of Stranger Things to Money Heist, it seems like they can’t get it wrong. They are now adding a brand new series to their arsenal.

The Witcher is adapted from a series of novels known as “The Witcher Saga” written by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

Most people know it from the video game adaption based on the same name (The Witcher). The video game revolves around a medieval time where monsters and magic exist.

Henry Cavill portrays a character known as Geralt of Rivia who’s a witcher. A group of supernaturally enhanced human beings for hire who have been trained from an early age to fight monsters terrorising humans.

One key ingredient for a witcher is the combination of poisons and potions they ingest turning them into genetically mutated humans who have supernatural abilities and cat-like eyes.

The announcement to adapt the books into a TV series was announced early last year with fans of the video game and the books receiving the news positively. The series will be based on the books and not the video game though we don’t know how long the series will last or how many episodes it’ll have. Set to debut in December this year.

Here’s why Stranger Things season 3 is worth every minute of your time
