On the drive show with Mwalimu Rachel and Xclusive tackled the trending news of muguka being banned in Mombasa and Kilifi County.

“And I know Waembu wengi sana walikuwa wana protest tunajua Embians are not happy because that is our cash crop,” Mwalimu Rachel said.

According to Xclusive a lot of Embians (Embu People) depend on muguka business to take their kids to school and even build houses to live in.

“Now the president had to speak because pale base ya Mount Kenya unajua pia weeh buana usianze kuchezea strong hold, so the president akasema muguka is actually a scheduled crop in accordance with the crop act of 2013 and miraa regulation of 2023 okay, Xclusive said.

“Na wanasema kwa sababu it is a scheduled crop, actually that is even funded by the government to the tune of like five hundred million yenye farmers wanapatiwa iwasaidie kufanya biashara yao,".

So according to the Crop Act of 2013, there is no County government that can ban muguka so the people from Mombasa and Kilifi should not worry.

The Embu high court recently issued a restraining order concerning the ban of muguka in Mombasa and Kilifi County until July 8th when the application will be heard.
