The outlet was alerted to the new design by celebrity tattoo artist-to-the-stars Bang Bang, also known as Keith McCurdy, who claimed to have been responsible.
Apparently the new tat was part of a couples’ tattoo Justine Beiber did for the Sorry singer and his new wife Hailey Baldwin, 21.
Despite admitting that her was behind the new designs, McCurdy opted not to divulge details about the design, its significance or where Justin’s wife Hailey placed her tattoo.
‘They each got a tattoo,’ the veteran artist told the publication, ‘Justin’s tattoo is on his face, and I haven’t seen any photos of it — so he’s doing a good job of laying low.’
He went on to describe the new ink, adding ‘It’s really thin and delicate. And [it’s] also not a traditional couples’ tattoo… I don’t want to give away what it is until press gets a hold of it.’
Of course a photo taken on Monday in New York seemingly did reveal the new tattoo, which confirmed McCurdy’s description that it contained ‘little words,’ albeit indecipherable ones.
Bieber has long had a taste for tattoos and in fact is covered almost head to toe in ink.
Back in April the heartthrob posted a shirtless snap and gushed over his love for body art.
If tattooed (sic throughout) didn’t hurt everyone would have them. Well maybe not very one!!Over a hundred hours of art work on my body and I wouldn’t take back a single one.. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ART AND IVE MAde my body a canvas and it’s SO MUCH FUN,’ he told his more than 100 million Instagram followers.
McCurdy has been behind many A-lister’s famous skin designs, including Rihanna’s egyptian falcon tattoo, which was allegedly extremely painful.
‘I’ve done some tattoos on celebrities in really painful spots. I’ve made Rihanna cry’ he added ‘Because it’s been so painful on certain body parts.’
He clarified ‘It was the tattoo on her ankle area, the Egyptian falcon. I think just being tattooed on your foot. She was not feeling it — but she thugged up.’
