Diamond Platnumz and his company WCB Records have started a festival meant to celebrate East African music and give east African artistes a platform.
This in and of itself is a fine thing indeed but not all are convinced. Alot of the older generation see these festivals as an excuse for debauchery. Word on the streets has it that Diamond has been "requested" by a Tanzanian cabinet minister to not hold the Wasafi Festival. The festival which is meant to go down on the 21st of September.
Waziri Mwakiembe wants Diamond to cancel all the contracts he has signed with all the stakeholders in a "patriotic" move according to the Sports, Culture and Heritage Minister so he can attend Tamasha la Kizalendo la Jamaa Fest.
