Ivlyn Mutua brought the house down at The Alchemist during the official launch of her album, 12 Beats of Christmas.

Sponsored by your very own Kiss Fm and Songa, the audience was treated to not only music but amazing gifts seeing as it is the festive season. They were also treated to surprise appearances from H_art The Band, Petra, Meryl Paige, Alysha Popat and gospel artist Dafari who all have a collabo in the album.

After weeks of practising, Ivlyn said that the aim of releasing the album was far beyond just singing but also to help her listeners to get in touch with their emotions.

“As an artist, my aim is to impact with my music. Music that people can directly relate [with] both emotionally and through the struggles of life,” she said in a past interview with Kiss 100

“The album is on Songa and every song is different and it talks to different people. The way we’ve arranged the album, it goes from party mood all the way to Christmas.”

‘Every song talks to different people’ Gospel turned secular artiste Ivlyn Mutua

Ivyln released her album under Taurus Music after her switch from singing gospel songs to secular music. She received a lot of backlash from her followers who called her out for backsliding.

“Some were calling me a devil worshipper, saying I have backslid. But I’m taking my time for people to understand that nothing can separate me from Jesus,” Ivlyn said

12 Beat Of Christmas has a variety of songs that will appeal to different emotions. Some will make you laugh others cry and others will make you dance. You can enjoy all this by downloading the Songa App either by dialling *812# or from the play store.
